We had the first Crazy Crumb class last night and I finally had to threaten to turn the power off to get everyone to leave! It was brilliant and these ladies are hooked! Once you've done your first Crazy Crumb block, you will not be able to stop!
And how good is it to know that you're using up your scraps - the bits that you would normally throw away or would sit in the cupboard as they're really too small to use elsewhere! Virtually a quilt for no cost! The frugal Welshwoman in me just loves that!
The first completed three blocks hot off the sewing machines. Aren't they just gorgeous? At this point, each student had a number of nearly completed blocks too as they zoomed through their scraps!
Kaye putting those blocks together. Fast and furious half square scrap triangles being made.
Cate - total absorption in using up tiny scrap pieces and just loving the wonky half square triangle blocks we create in Crazy Crumbs! Sometimes the biggest hurdle I face as the teacher is convincing the students that in Crazy Crumb quilts, the points don't have to meet!! Just go with the flow in this one - it's fun!!
Karene - working with the smallest of crumbs and loving it!
Our table littered with scraps as was the one side table! This is not neat and tidy piecing - it's throw everything on the table and go for it!
A good evening's work! Loads of finished, nearly finished and started blocks. 3 different methods taught and used and all students happy. Result: one very happy teacher too. :-))) Can't wait to see some of the finished quilts!
