Shhh!  Don't tell Sharon that I'm letting you see this! ;-))  I'm supposed to be making up the kits at the back so we can get these out into the shop as soon as possible.  But I couldn't resist sharing this gorgeous children's range with you.

How fun are these fabrics??  I'm going to be taking one home to make for my cousin's first grandchild.  Do you think little Harley would like this?

The complimentary range is wonderful too - so bright and cheerful!  Yes, I sneaked a photo of that for you too! :-)))  Aren't they wonderful?

Rouenneries Deux by French General.... just arrived!! :-))

The beautiful Rouenneries Deux range by French General has just arrived in the shop.  And I'm working at home today!  I didn't plan that very well, did I??  Makes me want to sneak in and take a peek!! :-))

It's still to be unpacked and entered into stock but it's here.  And should be available by Friday at the latest!  I can't wait to take some home!  No, I have nothing planned for it but it's so gorgeous I simply want to look at it. :-)))

Theodora Cleave parcel just arrived...

Wasn't I the lucky one to be in the shop when this little parcel arrived?  I love opening the parcels from Theodora Cleave!!  It's like Christmas all over again.  They are just yummy!

Limited stock so if you would like any, please come down on Monday as they walk out of the door as soon as everyone knows we have them!

 

A pin cushion for home

Margaret needed a new pin cushion for home and this pattern by Nikki Tervo really appealed.  It can be made with or without the stitchery and looks wonderful either way.

Margaret loves her stitchery so no prizes for guessing which version she chose! :-)  And doesn't it look fabulous?

The pattern is available in the shop and our shop sample made by Sharon (without the stitchery) is in the shop for you to see.

 

 

 

 

 

Printable Fabric Sheets back in stock

Our printable fabric sheets are finally back in stock!  Apologies to anyone who has been wanting these but the wholesaler couldn't get them from the supplier so we were all a little stuck!

The sheets are A4 size and can be printed on your own inkjet printer at home.  We've had great results transferring our photos and text to fabric with this brand of printable fabric sheets.

 
The cotton packs come in either a 10 or a 5 sheet pack while the organza and silk packs come in packs of 5 A4 sheets.

I LOVE using these for memory quilts, labels and other small projects.

Texture Magic / shrinking sheet workshop

Whatever name you know it by, it's amazing and fun stuff!  Joan and Lee got to grips with shrinking sheet and made wonderful textured fabric to use in quilts, bags and as applique pieces.

We experimented with attaching the shrinking sheet to fabric in different ways in order to get different textural effects and also played with some applique shapes, learning how to attach them to the background - great for baby's bibs, quilts, bags and so many other things!

Applying the steam and watching the sheet start shrinking to work it magic!

 

 

 

 

 

Lee used stippling quilting to attach the shrinking sheet to this fabric and turned the
ordinary piece of fabric into an incredibly textured fabric which she then used to applique onto a bag.

Joan experimented with her shrinking sheet, attaching it to her fabric using different size grids and lines to see the effect.

And we used stippling to attach the shrinking sheet to a gorgeous red fabric to turn it into a lovely textured heart which we machine appliqued to a background using vliesofix fusible web.

New Japanase fabric in stock

We're having an exciting week in the shop with so many parcels coming through the door - it's like Christmas!  Some of the parcels contained selected fabric from the stunning Hyakkar Ryoran range of fabric.   And there's more Japanese fabric that co-ordinates with these pieces coming in over the next few months.

Sharon has the fabric on the back counter to cut fat quarters but it keeps making it's way round to the front counter as customers see it and buy quantities off the bolt.  :-))
